California Contract Cities Association (CCCA)

California Contract Cities Association (CCCA) is a collection of member cities united for a common cause. Born in 1958 as the direct result of the Lakewood Plan, CCCA grew from eight contracting or member cities to 67 member cities today with more than ten million residents. Membership growth remains one of the main priorities of the association.

The general purpose of CCCA is to serve as a rallying point for cities contracting for municipal services so that they insure their constituents the best service at the minimum cost. Through municipal seminars, education, exchange of ideas and information, their association combines resources to influence policy decisions affecting their member cities.

KCET Desert Cities

KCET Desert Cities offers programs designed to enhance your life (or at least make it more fun) and tell the stories of the Coachella Valley and its residents. We are in your community with special events, activities, and workshops fostering and encouraging increased civic and social engagement. Here you can see programming for and about the Coachella Valley and learn about upcoming events in your area.

Popular KCET Desert Cities on-air chef, Kris Capra, hosted a special dinner and fundraiser at her Palm Springs home with popular PBS chef Joanne Weir to celebrate the release of Weir’s lastest cookbook, Wine Country Cooking. The book offers a wonderful collection of 150 recipes and wine pairings, and is a companion to Weir’s newest PBS series. Philip di Belardino, vice president of fine wines for Banfi Wines, provided excellent wine to compliment the exquisite Italian feast prepared by the Capra family.

Quad-Cities Beaux Arts Fair

The Beaux Arts Fund Committee, Inc., was incorporated November 2, 1953 as a fund-raising support group for the Davenport Museum of Art. There were 22 people listed as incorporators, most well-known of which was the Davenport sculptor Isabel Bloom.

The Committee organized Beaux Arts Balls as their fund-raiser for many years. Each event had an original theme that guided the creative costumes that patrons wore. In 1967, Ed Voss, who had chaired most of the balls, suggested we stage a weekend art fair similar to the ones he and J.P. Whitaker had attended in Chicago.

This movement created a way for local government and everyday citizens to help bring together the many cultures of the world.

Sister City programs are consummated through an agreement, signed by the mayors of each city, as a declaration of the commitment each city has with building long-lasting relationships. Through business, cultural, educational and technical exchanges, lifelong relationships are formed worldwide.
