City of The Dalles

The City of The Dalles, Oregon, is situated in the north-central part of the state on the Columbia River, the nation’s second largest river. It is the county seat and the largest community in Wasco County. The Dalles is one of Oregon’s most historical cities and was known earlier in its history as the town at the end of the Oregon Trail.

Archeological evidence suggests the area have been inhabited more or less continuously for more than 10,000 years. The city was first incorporated by the Oregon Territorial Government in 1857 as Dalles City and was made the county seat shortly thereafter. City of New Ulm, Minnesota

New Ulm, the City of “Charm and Tradition,” is nestled just 90 miles southwest of the Twin Cities, in the heart of the scenic Minnesota River Valley. New Ulm is becoming known as the “Christmas City” with its many Christmas traditions held each year. We “kick off” our Christmas season with a parade of lights, held the Friday after Thanksgiving.

New Ulm has many historic attractions; Hermann Monument, Glockenspiel, Harkin Store, Museum, Wanda Gag Home, John Lind Mansion and Schell’s Brewery are just to mention a few.

Pueblo City Schools

Pueblos first school building was a one-room adobe hut built near the Fountain River around 1862. As the population grew, additional buildings and teachers were added; in 1866 School District One served what was then the north side of town.

The town of South Pueblo was laid out in 1872. In the summer of 1873, District Twenty was organized; at that time a one-room schoolhouse was built on So uth Union Avenue. Additionally, the small districts 22, 43, and 45 existed briefly, but were quickly absorbed into the larger two districts.

The City Program

The City Program at Simon Fraser University is dedicated to understanding the city and how citizens can shape its future. Our courses, free lectures and programs cover a wide range of urban issues, including transportation, affordable housing, urban sustainability, real estate development, planning law, land use ethics, urban design, and heritage conservation.

Its instructors are practicing professionals and are participants are mid-career professionals from various disciplines and sectors as well as the general public. Many programs qualify for continuing education credits for professional associations. As an integral part of Continuing Studies at Simon Fraser University Vancouver, the City Program is closely linked with other continuing education programs.

The Official City of El Monte

Located approximately 12 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, El Monte is the hub of the San Gabriel Valley, where two major freeways Interstates 605 and 10 intersect and is the ninth largest city (out of 88) in Los Angeles County with a population of approximately 120,000.

City of Fargo

The City of Fargo is located in Cass County, North Dakota, along the Red River of the North which forms the border between Minnesota and North Dakota. An estimated 99,200 people live in Fargo. It is the largest community in the Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area (population of 175,000).

City of Wyoming, Michigan

The City of Wyoming has a long and profound history. A city that has grown in the shadow of metropolitan Grand Rapids, Wyoming has come into its own. Today, Wyoming is Michigan’s 16th largest community with west Michigan’s largest industrial tax base. The City has grown to 70,000 strong with a diverse cultural base, seven school districts, a balance of older and modern homes, retail variety and an abundance of parkland.

City of Azusa

The City of Azusa was founded in 1887 and incorporated as a general law city on December 29, 1898. The City is located in the County of Los Angeles, situated 27 miles northeast of the City of Los Angeles, and nestled against the San Gabriel Mountain foothills.

The City of Azusa encompasses 9.13 square miles and has a population of approximately 45,000. Educational facilities include nine public elementary / middle schools, two public high schools, one private school, and one private university.
